Delaware Valley improves to 18-5, winning for the 13
th time in its last 15 matches. The Aggies lead the all-time series, 2-0, and hit .239 as a team with 30 kills (30-9-88) and five total blocks. NJCU (4-14) dropped its sixth in a row and was limited to 22 kills and 22 attack errors (.000).
For the Gothic Knights, senior outside hitter
TABITHA JORDAN (West New York, NJ/Memorial) had a team-high of seven kills and added six digs. Freshman opposite

Junior defensive specialist
AMANDA DOPICO (West New York, NJ/Memorial) notched 12 digs for the Gothic Knights while junior outside hitter
KIARA MARTINEZ (Newark, NJ/East Side) finished with 11 digs, four kills and three aces.
Freshman setter
CINDY GARCIA (West New York, NJ/Memorial) provided 16 assists.
Delaware Valley was led by sophomore middle hitter
Janel Gluch (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) who had a brilliant performance, slamming 16 kills while hitting .452 with just two errors in 31 attempts. She added four solo blocks. Freshman setter
Crystal Ronan (Springfield, VA/Robert E. Lee) added a near triple-double with 28 assists, 10 digs and eight of her squad's 13 aces.
Sophomore middle hitter
Destinee Horning (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) registered a match high of 14 digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Alyssa Riggins (Elkton, MD/St. Mark's) hit .250 and added six kills and seven digs.
DVC held a 12-10 edge in kills in the opening set.
Gluch hit .385 in the period with six kills while
Riggins hit .333 with four winners.
Jordan hit .300 for NJCU in the set. The Aggies broke open a two-point game with an 8-2 spurt to build a 20-12 lead, winning the game by 10 points.
In the second period, the Aggies'
Ronan was a catalyst as she had four straight aces to help them take the set, 25-9. DVC led 9-6 before scoring 16 of the final 19 points in the period.
Gluch and
Horning each dazzled in the third set.
Gluch hit .462 with seven kills (7-1-13) while
Horning landed five kills and helped control the offensive efforts, despite a late rally from New Jersey City, to take the match in the third set, with a score of 25-18. The Aggies never trailed in the set but were challenged late, with NJCU drawling within one point, 19-18. DVC generated the final six points of the period, winning the match on an ace by
Horning.
NJCU will travel to St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in a non-conference match on Monday, October 17 at 7 p.m. at Brooklyn Technical High School.
