MADISON, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Baruch College never trailed or were tied and limited the New Jersey City University women's volleyball team to eight kills in a 25-13, 25-9, 25-9 sweep in the final match of the Devils Quad, hosted by FDU-Florham on Friday evening at the Ferguson Rec Center.
 
Baruch, which went 2-1 at the four-team event, improved to 9-5 with the win, while hitting .247 overall (30-12-73). NJCU (3-5) was held to a -.140 attack rate (8-16-57), its lowest offensive percentage since hitting -.203 against Montclair State University on September 12, 2000. The Bearcats combined for 20 service aces and lead the all-time series, 7-2.
 
The Bearcats received a .400 attack performance and eight kills (8-2-15) from sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Peralta (Bronx, NY). Junior middle blocker Lauren Hayden (Parker, CO) and freshman right side Jessica Wu (Cerritos, CA) had identical lines as each player hit .556 with five kills and no errors (nine swings). Junior setter Megan Moody (Anderson, TX) dished 20 assists and eight aces. Wu landed four aces.
 
In defeat for NJCU, rookie setter CINDY GARCIA (West New York, NJ/Memorial) contributed 10 digs and eight assists and senior libero MICHELLE RAYO (Jersey City, NJ/County Prep) added 10 digs. Rookie middle hitter JADE MEDLEY (Newark, NJ/Hudson Catholic) stuffed three blocks, including two solo.
 
NJCU is back on the court on Tuesday, September 27 at 7 p.m. when it faces Polytechnic Institute of New York University in a non-conference match in Brooklyn, NY.
