Sophomore All-Conference goalkeeper BRITTANY HOFFMAN (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) made 11 saves to keep New Jersey City University alive. However, a one-goal game at halftime got away from the Gothic Knights early in the second half when Richard Stockton College added a pair of insurance goals as the Ospreys defeated NJCU, 3-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference women's soccer game on October 6 at G. Larry James Stadium.

NJCU (5-7-2, 1-4-0 NJAC) had its two-game winning streak snapped while Stockton improved to 5-0-1 in its last six games and 10-2-2 overall (3-1-1 NJAC). The Ospreys lead the all-time series, 20-0. Stockton outshot NJCU, 26-3, including 15-1 in the second half.

Hoffman made six first half stops and five in the second half. She reached double digits in saves for the sixth time this season and the 11th time in her career. She had her consecutive minutes scoreless streak snapped at 195:53 when Stockton scored the game-winning goal in the 11th minute. It proved to be the fifth longest scoreless minutes streak in school history.

Senior midfielder Jess McQuillen (Tabernacle, NJ/Seneca) and junior forward Jacque Becker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each had a foot in Stockton's first two goals.

At the 10:05 mark, McQuillen scored her second goal of the year off an assist from Becker (third of 2012) before the two hooked up again just 5:38 into the second half, as Becker went in alone after a pass from McQuillen. Her ninth goal of the season off McQuillen's fifth assist made it a 2-0 contest.

Stockton added an insurance tally at the 61:47 mark as senior midfielder Dailey Todd (Millville, NJ/Millville) scored an unassisted breakaway goal, finishing a shot into the top right corner. Stockton had a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Senior center midfielder BRIANNA TAYLOR (Linden, NJ/Linden) had two of NJCU's three shots, with one on goal.

Junior Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill, NJ/Paul VI) made one save for Stockton in the first 69:47 before senior Brittany Boyle (Browns Mills, NJ/Pemberton) was untested in the final 20:13.

NJCU will play its fourth consecutive road contest on Wednesday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. when it faces Rutgers-Newark in an NJAC game at Alumni Field in Newark, NJ.
