JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The New Jersey City University men's and women's basketball teams will open their 2012-13 home schedules and 18-game New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule with a doubleheader against rival Ramapo College on Tuesday, November 20 at 6 and 8 p.m.

The NJCU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will donate all proceeds from tickets sales for the NJCU/Ramapo contest to a charity benefitting victims of Hurricane Sandy, which had a catastrophic impact on the state, including the city of Jersey City, on October 29.

Also to be unveiled at NJCU's first home game is the University's official Gothic Knight mascot, which will become a regular staple of home events in a partnership between the athletic department, Student Government Organization and Office of Campus Life. The new mascot is expected to make its debut during the first half of the men's game against the #17 ranked Roadrunners.

In all, NJCU will play 12 home women's basketball games during the 2012-13 season—nine conference and three non-league games—while the men will have 10 home contests.

Admission to all home basketball games is $5 for adults and $3 for non-NJCU students and children; NJCU students with school identification will be admitted free.
