WEEHAWKEN, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University sophomore catcher MARISSA BARISO (Hewitt, NJ/West Milford) was 2-for-3 with a homerun, three RBIs and a run scored in game one and added a run in a 3-for-4 effort in game two, finishing a combined 5-for-6, and junior first baseman REBECCA SATZ (Morris Plains, NJ/Morristown) extended her season-opening hitting streak to 14 games, but the Gothic Knights fell twice in heartbreaking fashion to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, falling 7-6 in 10 innings and 11-6 in game two at the Weehawken Waterfront Park.

The Ducks (6-8) scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in game two after NJCU (5-9) held a 6-5 lead. After a 4-1 start to the season, the Knights have dropped eight of nine games. Stevens leads the all-time series, 4-2.

Bariso became just the second player in school history to reach double figures in career homeruns in the opening game with her 10th overall and third of the season. Jen Barletta had 23 homers from 1998-2001.

Satz, the reigning NJAC Player of the Week, was a combined 3-for-9 with a homerun, two RBIs, two runs scored and 21 putouts defensively in the doubleheader. Senior shortstop MEGAN GINTER (Nutley, NJ/Nutley), with three hits and four runs in the doubleheader, moved into sixth place in program history with 133 career hits and recorded her 85th career steal—five shy of breaking the school record of 89.
