Less than three days after hitting the biggest shot of his young career to beat Rutgers-Newark at the buzzer, four-time New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week KHALID MUHAMMAD (Orange, NJ/Orange) had another decisive performance, matching his career-high with 24 points, including 15 in the second half as New Jersey City University vaulted back into playoff contention with a critical 66-55 New Jersey Athletic Conference victory over Kean University on January 26 at Harwood Arena.

NJCU (9-11, 4-9 NJAC) won for the fifth time in seven outings and now sits just one game behind Kean (6-14, 5-8 NJAC) in the standings for the sixth and final conference tournament berth. After starting the conference slate at 0-7, NJCU is now 4-2 in its last six league games.

Muhammad, who also scored 24 points at Ramapo College only 10 days earlier, reached the 20-point threshold for the third time in his rookie campaign while shooting 9-of-18 overall in 34 minutes, including a pair of three-pointers. He reached double figures in the points column for the 16th time this year and led the club in scoring for a 14th time.
