Richard Stockton College outscored New Jersey City University in the second half, 37-23, to break open a close game and the Ospreys shot 51.9 percent while limiting the Gothic Knights to just 20-of-80 shooting as Stockton won a 70-51 New Jersey Athletic Conference women's basketball victory over NJCU on January 30 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on 'Coach Charlie Brown Court.'

The Ospreys (10-9, 5-7 NJAC) won for the 20th consecutive meeting between the schools and snapped a four-game losing streak. NJCU (5-16, 1-11 NJAC) is eliminated from conference tournament contention with the loss. NJCU lost despite committing only 11 turnovers in the game.

Stockton only had seven players see action yet owned a decisive 40-16 advantage in points in the paint. The guests shot 28-of-54 from the field and the 51.9 percent accuracy rate was by far its highest field goal percentage of the season.

In the first half where both teams traded baskets, Kaminski scored the first seven Gothic Knights points but did not score again. NJCU wasn't able to put two successful halves of basketball together in yet another loss, as Stockton outplayed the hosts for much of the second period, leading by as many as 20.

The Ospreys scored the first eight points of the second half, pushing the lead to double digits on consecutive jumpers by Farrell and  Morgan-Jones before Galamb capped off the run with a lay-up with 16:28 remaining, for a 13-point, 41-28 margin.

NJCU's first basket of the second half came at the 16:11 mark when Vazquez drilled a three-pointer. The Knights drew within eight, 45-37, with 12:55 to go before Stockton used a 9-2 spurt to run its lead to 15 and began to pull away, before prevailing by 19.
