New Jersey City University hosted three matches on October 26 at its NJCU October Quad at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center, but lost each, falling to Immaculata University, 3-0, Mount Saint Mary College (NY), 3-2, and eventual quad winner, the State University of New York Institute of Technology (SUNYIT), also by a 3-0 margin, on 'Coach Charlie Brown Court.'
NJCU was facing both Immaculata and SUNYIT for the first time in program history. The Gothic Knights (6-25) losing streak reached 12 matches. NJCU fell to Immaculata (9-14) in the opener, 25-13, 25-18, 25-19. The Knights held a 2-1 lead over Mount Saint Mary (12-17) before succumbing in five sets, with the Blue Knights victorious 25-22, 21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-13. SUNYIT went 3-0 during the two-court, six-match tournament, improving to 28-4 overall with a 25-21, 25-13, 25-17 triumph over NJCU.
In defeat for NJCU, junior middle hitter
JADE MEDLEY (Queens, NJ/Hudson Catholic) was the lone Gothic Knight named to the All-Tournament Team, finishing with 29 kills, a .202 attack percentage (29-11-89) and six blocks in three matches.
