GALLOWAY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com)
 | New Jersey City University led 5-1 before Richard Stockton College scored four times in the fifth and seventh innings and tallied nine of the game's final 10 runs to outlast the Gothic Knights, 10-6, in the opening game of a home-and-home New Jersey Athletic Conference series on April 11.

The loss spoiled another incredible effort from reigning NJAC Player of the Week ANDREW RIVERA (Edison, NJ/Edison), who was 4-for-5 with two runs, a double and one RBI. He moved into 17th place in school history with 121 career hits. Rivera is batting 11 for his last 17 and 21 for his last 40 since eclipsing 100 hits. He has multi-hit games in eight of his last nine contests.

A win would have put NJCU in sixth place in the league. Instead, the Gothic Knights fall to 13-12 (2-5 NJAC). Stockton (14-13, 2-5 NJAC), is now tied with NJCU, Rutgers-Camden and Rutgers-Newark for seventh place in the league with four points.

Sophomore DELIO COUTINHO (Colonia, NJ/Colonia), typically NJCU's closer, entered the game in the fourth inning for sophomore first baseman ALEX WEINSTEIN (Colonia, NJ/JFK-Iselin). Both players contributed offensively. Coutinho was most notable. After batting 0-for-7 to open the season in limited plate appearances and never having an official at bat last year, he posted the first hits of his career—a 3-for-3 effort with two RBIs and a double.

Weinstein was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Sophomore third baseman MICHAEL MARTUCCI (Bayonne, NJ/Saint Peter's Prep) added a 2-for-4 effort with two runs and one RBI.
