JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com)
 | Junior catcher MARISSA BARISO (Hewitt, NJ/West Milford) unleashed a homerun in each game—the 16th and 17th homers of her career—and rookie designated player JULIANA JACOBSON (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) belted the 14th grand slam in New Jersey City University history as the Gothic Knights split a non-conference softball doubleheader on April 4, blanking the College of Staten Island in five innings, 11-0, in game one, before falling in the nightcap, 13-8. Both games were played at NJCU's  Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

Senior right-hander ASHLEY O'BEIRNE (Wood-Ridge, NJ/Immaculate Conception) fired a five-hit shutout in game one—her fifth shutout of the season and eighth of her career to tie for second place in program history.

With the split, NJCU is 10-11 overall. CSI, which leads the all-time 'Bayonne Bridge Series' by a 23-17 margin, is 6-7.
