Nelson Sosa (West New York, NJ/Memorial) came off the bench to tie the game in the 56
th minute before Ramapo College struck for the go-ahead goal in the 79
th frame and added an insurance tally six minutes later as the Roadrunners downed
New Jersey City University, 3-1, in New Jersey Athletic Conference men's soccer at the Ramapo Athletic Center on October 15.
Ramapo (7-6-3, 1-4-1 NJAC) won its first conference game of the year while snapping a four-game losing streak. NJCU (1-13-3) lost its eight in a row and the Gothic Knights are winless in their last 13 outings. RCNJ outshot NJCU, 18-6, including 12-4 in the second half.
Sosa's game-tying goal—the first points of his collegiate career—came at 55:29 off the first career assist or point from freshman midfielder
Marco Campos (Union, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep). Campos switched the ball across the field to
Sosa on the left who cut inside a defender and hammered a shot from about 18 yards inside the far post.
Dan Boffa, who had a goal and an assist in the contest, got Ramapo on the board in the ninth minute with his sixth goal of the season—heading home a chip from
Kevin Monaghan off the rebound of his own saved shot. Ramapo led 1-0 at the break.

Tyler Krychkowski (North Arlington, NJ/North Arlington) stopped five shots in defeat. RCNJ's
Brady O'Connor made one save.

It will be the first of three straight home games to conclude the season with additional contests against Rowan (October 25) and William Paterson (October 29). NJCU is 0-4 at home.
