Tyler Krychkowski (North Arlington, NJ/North Arlington) produced his first collegiate brace on Senior Day 2015, giving
New Jersey City University a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute before making it a one-goal deficit in the 58th. But The College of New Jersey scored three straight goals to close the first half, including two in a span of 1:57 as the Lions knocked off NJCU, 4-2, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference men's soccer game on October 21 at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.
Krychkowski netted his fourth and fifth goals of the season and senior back
Christopher Segovia (North Bergen, NJ/Memorial)—who ranks second in school history in minutes played (5904)—notched his first assist of the season on the go-ahead goal. NJCU honored both players, plus senior forward
Nicholas O'Neill (Eatontown, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) before the game.
The win for TCNJ (9-4-2, 3-4-0 NJAC) was critical for the Lions who pulled within three points of Rowan University and Rutgers University-Camden (12 points) for the final berth in the six-team conference tournament with two games to play. NJCU is 1-14 (0-7 NJAC, lost 12).
The aggressive Lions outshot NJCU 17-5 in the first half and 26-14 overall on the day; the clubs were even 9-9 in the second half. TCNJ was whistled for 16 offsides in the game.
