CAPE CORAL, Fla. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Unbeaten Emory & Henry College limited NJCU to four hits and scored four times in the second inning in a 7-0 win over New Jersey City University in game seven of the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic for the Gothic Knights on March 11.
 
E&H, members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), improved to 5-0 overall, having outscored its opponents 37-5. NJCU fell to 1-6.
 
Senior right-hander Katie Grimm tossed a 7.0 inning four-hit shutout, striking out four without issuing a walk over 55 pitches.
 
Sophomore right-hander Brittany Paulikas (Fords, NJ/JFK-Iselin) went the first 5.0 innings in defeat (1-2), allowing two earned runs and 10 hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Senior lefty Ashley Latushko (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) threw the final two innings.
 
The Wasps were led by freshman Leah Elswick who was 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBIs and a walk. Junior left fielder Hannah Bays was 2-for-4 with an RBI and first baseman Taylor Doss had two hits, including what proved to be the game-winning run when she had a first-inning RBI single. RBI doubles by Elswick and Bays capped the four-run second inning.
