BRONX, N.Y. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | For the first time in two weeks, the
New Jersey City University baseball team was able to get a scheduled game in but without being outside in 14 days, the rust was evident. In a game that lasted 3:40 under a cold rain, NJCU was limited to four hits and committed five errors as Lehman College topped the Gothic Knights, 8-2, on March 25 at South Field.

Lehman (1-4) won its first game of the season while NJCU (3-4) had its three-game winning streak snapped. NJCU, playing its first northern game of the season after eight prior weather-related postponed dates, had last played on March 11 in Auburndale, Fla. and had notched 48 runs and 53 hits in the last three games.

Lehman scored three times in the sixth and three more in the seventh to break open a 2-1 game. The Lightning were limited to eight hits but had three go for extra-bases.
Senior center fielder
Michael Martucci (Bayonne, NJ/Saint Peter's Prep) was 2-for-5 with a run and RBI while sophomore right fielder
Eric Giordano (Metuchen, NJ/JFK-Iselin) hit safely for the 20th time in 21 games and extended his on-base streak to 20 contests, going 2-for-5.
