13 Threes Allow NJCU to Shoot Past Rutgers-Camden, 81-64

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University unleashed a 20-3 run late in the first half to open up separation and knocked down 13 three-pointers as the Gothic Knights cruised to an 81-64 New Jersey Athletic Conference men's basketball home victory over Rutgers University-Camden on December 3 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Charlie Brown Court).
 
Senior shooting guard Jalen Harris (Brandywine, Md./Gwynn Park (Md.)), the NJAC Player of the Week, scored a game-high 20 points in just 24 minutes, knocking down 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-7 three-point tries with three assists to help the Gothic Knights (6-1, 3-0 NJAC) to their fourth consecutive victory.
 
Freshman power forward Sam Toney (Somerdale, N.J./Williamstown) connected on 7-of-9 shots (3-5 3FG) and generated 17 points in just 20 minutes of action.  With the Gothic Knights up by 20 with early in the second half, NJCU's starters did not play in the final 12:30 of the game.
 
Isaac Destin scored 19 (6-12 FG, 7-8 FT) and had 11 rebounds for a double-double for Rutgers-Camden, which dropped to 0-4 (0-3 NJAC).
