MAHWAH, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Ramapo College hit 10 three-point shots and outscored the
New Jersey City University women's basketball team 20-4 in the third quarter, capping the period with an 18-0 run to win the New Jersey Athletic Conference game on February 3, 71-43, at the Bill Bradley Center.

NJCU (1-19, 0-14 NJAC) trailed by just one after the first quarter (14-13) before Ramapo (5-16, 3-11 NJAC) gained the momentum in the second quarter and led 31-23 at halftime before seizing control in the third period.

In defeat, sophomore center
Sharaunda Fiedtkou (West Orange, NJ/Bayonne) continued to emerge as a dominant player. She posted her fourth consecutive double-double—the only ones of her career—finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds (seven defensive). Senior forward
Deseree Johnson (Red Bank, NJ/Monmouth Regional) knocked down three more three-pointers and with 103 is three shy of matching the program's career record. She scored 11 points and had four steals and a pair of assists.
Also for NJCU, sophomore center
Shege Haxhaj (Lyndhurst, NJ/Lyndhurst), the captain of NJCU's women's volleyball team, who made her debut as a two-sport collegiate athlete on Monday, was impressive in her second collegiate basketball game. She scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting and had six rebounds and one block.

Ramapo had four players score in double figures, highlighted by
Alexandra Seedes who netted 20 points, including six three-pointers (6-15) in 26 minutes.
Kellie Lane added 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting and a perfect 5-of-5 at the line.

Also for the Roadrunners,
Shelby Ringer was 4-of-7 from the field—all from three-point range—scored 12 points and added four assists.
Grace Elliott finished with 11 points and three blocks. Ramapo had a 23-12 advantage in points off turnovers.

The turning point in the game came midway through the third quarter. NJCU drew within six (33-27) on a tip-in by
Fiedtkou with 6:26 to play. But Ramapo seized control from there, scoring the final 18 points of the period. Four different RCNJ players scored the first nine points of the 18-0 spurt.
Ringer hit a pair of threes—one at 5:36 to push the lead to double figures (38-27) before she hit another with 3:20 to go for an 18-point, 45-27 margin.
Seedes and
Ringer capped the run with back-to-back threes in a span of 32 seconds to make it a 24-point game (51-27). That was the score at the end of the third quarter. Ramapo's largest lead was 70-40 with 57 seconds left in the fourth.
Shege Haxhaj had an impressive nine points and six rebounds
in just the second collegiate game of her career.Â

What's Next?:NJCU heads to Ewing, NJ on Saturday, February 6 at 1 p.m. to face The College of New Jersey (10-11, 6-8 NJAC). The Lions are a game behind Rutgers-Camden for the final berth in the NJAC Tournament. TCNJ won the first meeting between the schools in Jersey City on January 9, 62-37. The Lions committed just eight turnovers and limited NJCU to 10 or less points in each quarter. It will be the 58th meeting in a series TCNJ leads all-time, 54-3.
