JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Stockton University combined for 32 runs and 31 hits, aided by 13 errors in sweeping a New Jersey Athletic Conference softball doubleheader from
New Jersey City University, 13-1 in six innings and 19-5, on April 16 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

Stockton extended its winning streak to seven and improved to 21-7 overall (5-3 NJAC) as it hit four home runs—three in the second game. NJCU falls to 11-17 (0-10 NJAC, lost 12).

Game 1: Stockton University 13, New Jersey City University 1 (6 Innings)
Stockton scored two runs in each of the first three innings before enforcing the eight-run rule with a six-run sixth. The Ospreys had a 13-5 edge in hits and benefitted from five NJCU errors.

Stockton senior right-handed pitcher
Samantha Shockey (Deptford, N.J/Deptford) struck out three Gothic Knights in four innings, improving to 9-4 overall and junior lefty
Allyson Kuhn (Leesburg, Va.) struck out one in two innings of work.
Shockey limited the Knights to three hits and one unearned run and
Kuhn held NJCU to two hits.

Chelsea Thomas (Barrington, N.J./Haddon Heights) went 2-for-2 with three runs and a walk. Senior second baseman
Gianna Cuffari (Cedar Grove, N.J./Cedar Grove) homered, batting 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored. Sophomore catcher
Alexa Massa (Moorestown, N.J/Moorestown) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.

Christina Mezey (Jersey City, N.J./Saint Dominic Academy) fell to 5-9. She walked three and struck out two in the loss. Junior first baseman
Brittany Paulikas (Fords, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial) drove in NJCU's lone run (1-3).

Game 2: Stockton University 19, New Jersey City University 5 (7 innings)
The Ospreys hit three homers in the seventh inning and scored eight runs in a game where the visitors produced 18 hits and took advantage of eight NJCU errors. Stockton scored twice in the first inning and three runs in the second and third frames and two more in the fourth before NJCU notched five runs in the fourth inning to extend the game.
Stockton sophomore righty
Hannah Bibeault (Hopatcong, N.J/Hopatcong) continued her undefeated season (5-0), striking out eight with no walks and limiting NJCU to one hit in 6.0 innings, leaving and reentering after a reliever allowed five runs.

Nicole Tomo (Cedar Grove, N.J./Cedar Grove) knocked in four runs, batting 2-for-5, with her first homer and sophomore catcher
Danielle Lugo (Vineland, N.J./Vineland) was 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs, homering for the second time this year.

Catherine Wunder (Clinton, N.J./North Hunterdon) hit her third homer of the season, batting 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBIs and two walks.
Thomas scored four times, going 3-for-5 with one RBI. Junior right fielder
Holly Arentowicz (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury) was 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Arentowicz put Stockton on the board in the first inning with a single to center and
Massa added a sacrifice fly for an RBI.
Thomas and
Arentowicz doubled in the second inning; the second two-bagger plating two runs. Three more runs came in for the Ospreys in the third inning with a two RBI single making it 8-0. Two unearned runs in the fourth made it 10-0.
