Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Jesenia Montalvo (Hillside, NJ/Bayonne) scored a career-high 22 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team, but it wasn't enough as the
New Jersey City University women's basketball team fell to Penn State Berks, 70-53, in the consolation round of the Susquehanna Trailways Tipoff Tournament on November 19 inside Susquehanna University's Houts Gymnasium.

The Nittany Lions opened the game on an 11-2 run and held a 26-18 advantage at halftime before leading by as many as 21 points against NJCU (0-3) with 31 seconds left in the third quarter. PSU-Berks (1-1) used a 13-2 run that began at the 3:04 mark to pull away in the neutral court contest.

Montalvo missed out on a double-double by two rebounds as she scored 15 of her career-high 22 points from three-point range (5-10) in 38 minutes of play. Junior forward
D`Amonte Cancel (Freehold Township, NJ/Freehold Township) also had a near double-double performance with 11 points (4-6 FG) and eight rebounds, while junior guard/forward
Nazjae Imes (Jersey City, NJ/St. Mary of the Assumption) grabbed a season-best 10 rebounds (seven defensive) and chipped in seven points.

Despite the loss, NJCU outrebounded PSU Berks, 47-37. However, the Nittany Lions went to the free throw line 34 times compared to NJCU's 12 opportunities and shot an impressive 55 percent from the floor (16-29) in the second half. It was a sloppy game as there were 59 combined turnovers between the two sides.

Deanna Daddona led all scorers with 24 points and added six rebounds in 36 minutes on the court. Two other PSU-Berks players tallied double digits in points as
Kylie Herman narrowly missed out on a double-double with 14 points (6-10 FG) and secured team-highs of eight rebounds and five steals, while sophomore guard
Melissa Martin chipped in 13 points with six of them coming from the charity stripe.
