JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The New Jersey City University baseball team will see three more changes to its baseball schedule this week, including a postponement on Wednesday, March 29 and a venue change for its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener on Saturday, April 1.

Here are the latest updates in the 2017 spring sports drama of 'How the Baseball Schedule Turns':

  • March 29: NJCU's road non-conference game at the College of Staten Island (4 p.m.) has been postponed due to field conditions. The makeup date is Sunday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m. in Staten Island, N.Y.
  • April 1: With Friday and Saturday's forecast calling for yet more rain, the April 1 home NJAC doubleheader against Kean University has been moved to Union, N.J. and will now be a road doubleheader at Jim Hynes '63 Baseball Stadium, beginning at 12 p.m.
  • April 2: NJCU's home non-conference game with Baruch College that was rained out on March 28, has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 2 at 12 p.m. in Jersey City. It becomes NJCU's new home opener at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

The latest changes mark the 10th postponement this season against eight different opponents. It's also the second time a home date in Jersey City has had the venue changed to become a road game. It leaves the Gothic Knights (4-5) with 15 home games over 13 dates. NJCU returns to action on Thursday, March 30 (7 p.m.) at Mount Saint Mary College at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, N.Y.
