SWARTHMORE, Pa. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | In the first-ever non-conference meeting between
New Jersey City University and Swarthmore College, NJCU led 6-1 after two innings before the Garnet rallied for two runs in the sixth and three in the bottom of the seventh, rallying for a 9-8 victory on April 27 at Clothier Field. Swarthmore won the opening game, 4-1.

Swarthmore, members of the Centennial Conference, improve to 15-21 with the two decisions. NJCU fell to 10-22 (lost six).

In the opener, NJCU led 1-0 before the Garnet scored four times in the second inning. NJCU had four hits in the game—two by junior left fielder
Julie Squeo (Carlstadt, NJ/Becton Regional) (Carlstadt, N.J./Becton Regional) who batted 2-for-2 with a run scored. She was a combined 4-for-5 in the doubleheader.
