JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Standing water in the outfield from recent heavy rains has necessitated yet another
New Jersey City University baseball postponement. The Wednesday, April 5 makeup non-conference game against Lehman College (3:30 p.m.) is postponed. A new date will be determined.
Â
The game was originally scheduled for March 18 and crews at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex aggressively attempted to get the field ready to play today with more heavy rain expected on Thursday.
Â
The latest changes mark the 13th postponement this season against eight different opponents in a bizarre spring weather season that just won't relent. It also marks the ninth time NJCU's 2017 home opener at the Gerrity Complex has been called off. NJCU's original home opener was March 18 against Lehman. |
Updated Baseball Schedule
Â
NJCU baseball is 6-6 overall and 5-1 since returning from its spring trip to Florida, including a win over No. 25/25 ranked Kean in New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Saturday. If conditions permit, NJCU is next scheduled to play a NJAC home-and-home series with Rutgers-Newark on April 6 in Newark and April 7 in Jersey City.
