JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Freshman middle hitter Dave Etienne (Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson) hit.474 with 11 kills to fuel New Jersey City University's  3-1 (25-12, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21) non-conference victory over Bard College on February 15 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court).
 
NJCU (4-4) evened its record at .500 on the season by posting a 45-28 advantage in kills in the victory. Bard (0-11) was limited to a -.032 attack percentage as a team (28-32-125) in the first meeting between the programs in 16 years.

Etienne had 11 kills in 19 swings with just two errors while adding two blocks and sophomore middle blocker Julian Moreira (Miami, FL/Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Biscayne Bay Campus) added nine kills, six blocks (three solo) and four aces. Sophomore setter Jimmy Vega (Harrison, NJ/Harrison) distributed 22 assists and seven digs.
