New Jersey City University men's volleyball team committed 21 attack errors and suffered its first ever loss to Brooklyn College in 25 meetings as the Bulldogs defeated NJCU, 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 26-24) in non-conference action on March 1 at the West Quad Center.

NJCU (5-7) drew within one point (24-23) in the first set and tied the third set at 24-24, before service errors cost the Gothic Knights a chance to extend the match. Brooklyn is 6-7.

NJCU struggled offensively, hitting .091 with nine more attack errors than Brooklyn. Each team had 29 kills.

Vaughn Titus (College Point, N.Y.) led BC with eight kills, a .412 attack percentage (8-1-17), three aces and two blocks. Sophomore middle hitter
Ahmed Moawad (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a team-high nine kills. hitting .353. Junior setter
Sayuj Zachariah (Floral Park, N.Y.) handed out 17 assists.

NJCU will be idle for two weeks over spring break before returning to action on Thursday, March 15 in a tri-match against Hunter College and St. Joseph's (LI) at 6 and 8 p.m. in Patchogue, N.Y. The host, St. Joseph's won the first-ever meeting between the schools, last year. NJCU and Hunter will meet for the 30th time; Hunter has a 17-12 edge in the series.
