JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The 20-win
New Jersey City University baseball team has added a new date to its schedule to serve as Senior Day after the original date was rained out last weekend against Rowan. The Gothic Knights (20-18) will seek win No. 21 when they face Moravian College (18-19) on Saturday, May 5 at 12 p.m. at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.
Â
Prior to game, NJCU will honor its senior class—
Dan Berardi (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex), Dan Foley (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East), Kyle Kafer (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown) and
Mike Ramirez (Old Bridge, NJ/Saint Joseph-Metuchen)—in an on-field ceremony at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Â
It will be the second meeting this season between NJCU and Moravian. On March 15 in Bethlehem, Pa., the Greyhounds edged NJCU, 9-8, in a game called due to darkness in the top of the ninth inning. NJCU had the tying run on third with one out in the top of the ninth inning when the umpires declared the game final.
Â
It will be the final game of the regular season for NJCU. The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Tournament pairings will be announced on Monday, May 7.
