JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | With fields still unplayable due to flooding caused by heavy rains earlier this week, Saturday's New Jersey Athletic Conference men's soccer game between
New Jersey City University and Rutgers University-Camden at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex has been forced to relocate and will become a road game.
Â
NJCU (5-4-0, 0-3-0 NJAC) will instead head south and play Rutgers-Camden (6-3-1, 1-1-0 NJAC) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 29. RU-Camden will also host a regularly-scheduled women's game between NJCU and the Scarlet Raptors at 1 p.m.
Â
To make up for the game being moved, Rutgers-Camden will now come to Jersey City in back-to-back years in 2019 and 2020.
Â
The venue change is the second this week forced by field conditions. Wednesday's women's soccer game between NJCU and Kean was postponed and moved to Union, N.J. where the Cougars prevailed, 2-0, on Thursday night (September 27).
Â
The Gothic Knights are 4-1 at home this season and will now have their home schedule reduced to nine total contests during the regular season.
