JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | While most of the New Jersey City University campus was enjoying its first day of Spring Break on March 9, 16 NJCU student-athletes representing nine different sports programs spent four hours volunteering with a unique community outreach obstacle course event at PS 37 in Jersey City. The event was hosted by JC Families, a community partner of NJCU's ComRec Office, and Wildly Fit, an adult fitness and private training center in the city.
 
As part of NJCU's partnership with the JC Families Obstacle Course event, Gothic Knight student athletes served as race officials and contributed to setting up and breaking down the various obstacle courses for the racers.

• Freshman goalkeeper Mariana Amaro (Paterson, NJ/John F. Kennedy STEM) of the NJCU women's soccer team
• Sophomore forward Aracelli Carranza (North Bergen, NJ/North Bergen) of the NJCU women's soccer team
• Freshman Ali Chaudhry (Jersey City, NJ/Ferris) of the NJCU men's cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field program
• Sophomore back Tiffany Depaiva (Union, NJ/Union) of the NJCU women's soccer team
• Freshman Dave Etienne (Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson) of the NJCU men's cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field program
• Freshman opposite/middle hitter Anaiyah Gilyard (Newark, NJ/West Caldwell Tech) of the NJCU women's volleyball team
• Sophomore April Gutierrez (Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson) of the women's indoor and outdoor track and field program
• Freshman midfielder Kathy Gutierrez (Jersey City, NJ/McNair Academic) of the NJCU women's soccer team
• Freshman Imade Igiebor (Newark, NJ/Malcolm X. Shanazz) of the indoor and outdoor track and field program
• Freshman Jerard Johnson (Jersey City, NJ/Snyder) of the indoor and outdoor track and field program
