NEWARK, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Rutgers-Newark chalked up 12 more kills and committed 11 fewer attack errors as the Scarlet Raiders swept a New Jersey Athletic Conference match from
New Jersey City University, 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-20) on March 7 at the Golden Dome.

Rutgers-Newark (11-4, 1-1 NJAC), led wire-to-wire in the first and third sets on a night where it hit .291 as a team with 37 kills and a line of 37-14-79. NJCU (7-9, 0-3 NJAC), had 25 kills but committed 25 attack errors in 80 attempts, hitting .000 for the match.

RUN was led by senior right side
Brendon Frank (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) who hit .333 with nine kills (9-2-21) and two blocks while sophomore middle hitter
David Mrowko (Kearny, N.J.) notched a .429 attack percentage with seven kills in 14 swings (one error). Sophomore right side
Kyle Loesner (East Brunswick, N.J.) added six kills.
Travis Emenaker dished 17 assists in two sets with senior setter
Arnan Romua (Bayonne, N.J.) handing out another 12 assists in one game.

Jonathan Andrews (North Bergen, NJ/North Bergen) was NJCU's top performer with seven kills, hitting .214 with a pair of aces and two blocks. Junior middle
Julian Moreira (Miami, FL/Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Biscayne Bay Campus) finished with five kills.

After hitting -.269 (4-11-26) in the opening set, NJCU bounced back in game two, hitting .240 with 12 kills, and that allowed the set to be the most competitive of the night, featuring 10 ties and four lead changes. Down by one (22-21), NJCU committed back-to-back attack errors and Newark clinched a 25-22 win before leading the entire third set.
