JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The New Jersey City University Community Outreach Team finalized their Soles4Souls shoe donation project on Monday, August 19, dropping off an incredible 510 pairs of shoes on behalf of the NJCU Athletic Department.
Soles4Souls is a non-profit that works to provide relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.
This is the first year of an exciting partnership with S4S, a partnership that will extend into spring of this year, when a select number of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee members will be traveling to Guatemala to help distribute the shoes.
The donation process began back in the fall of 2018, with bins located in the lobbies of the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center and Gilligan Student Union Building. Bins will be available for new or gently-used shoe donations (shoes only) again this year in the same spots. Donations will run through spring 2020 with another donation at the conclusion of the 2019-20 school year.
