MADISON, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | FDU-Florham led 4-0 at the half and outshot the
New Jersey City University women's soccer team, 27-2, en route to a 9-0 win in a non-conference matchup on opening day 2019 for both schools at the Robert T. Shields Field on August 30.

FDU held a 13-2 edge in shots in the first half, scoring goals in the 14th, 16th and 18th minute to seize control of the game. It added a pair of goals in a span of 90 seconds in the 54th and 56 minutes and then twice in just 1:14 in the 75th and 77th frames. The Devils (1-0) had all 14 of the second half shots.Â

Amanda Croce (Wayne, N.J.) scored four goals for FDU, putting all four shots she attempted in the game in the back of the net. Senior forward
Erika Pita (Toms River, N.J.) had five points—two goals and an assist—while putting five of her game-high six shots on target.

Madeline Finnegan (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) and freshman midfielder

Nicolette Roberts (Mahwah, N.J.) had two assists. Four other players had single assists.

Arame Diouf (Weehawken, NJ/Memorial) had both of NJCU's shots. FDU used three keepers to record a clean sheet in a game in which 25 players saw the field for the hosts. Sophomore keeper
Sidney Lee-Sam made four saves in 67:18 for NJCU while junior
Kayla Breaud (Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Regional) stopped one shot in the first 22:42 of her Gothic Knight career.
