NJCU Basketball to Host Inaugural First Responders Day on January 18; Gothic Knights to Offer Free Admission for Eligible First Responders and Family Members

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University will host its inaugural First Responders Day on Saturday, January 18 in conjunction with its weekend doubleheader against Rutgers University-Camden. The Gothic Knights host a women's game at 1 PM, followed by men's action at 3 PM.
 
In honor of the heroic service and sacrifice first responders make to protect the public on a daily basis, all first responders, including but not limited to police officers, state troopers, firefighters and EMTs and military personnel, and all individuals in law enforcement, are encouraged to attend. 
 
All first responders with their professional identification and their families will be admitted free to both games of the doubleheader.
 
NJCU will publicly acknowledge the Jersey City Police Department officers who are in attendance. Additionally, NJCU's traditional halftime contest, known as 'Gothic Knockout' will be played during each game and only first responders or their families will participate.
 
The New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader will be played at NJCU's John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court) located at 110 Culver Avenue in Jersey City.
