FISHKILL, N.Y. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Mount Saint Mary College (NY) plated eight runs in the bottom of the first inning to spark it to a 15-5 non-conference win over the
New Jersey City University baseball team on March 4 at Dutchess Stadium.

MSMC (2-2) collected 22 hits in the game, including eight in the decisive first inning, when NJCU (0-4) committed all three of its errors.

NJCU got a run back in the second before each team scored four runs in the third, giving the Blue Knights a 12-5 lead over the Gothic Knights. MSMC added two runs in the fourth before adding one more in the seventh.

Justin Wiltsey (Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Hamilton West) batted 3-for-4 for NJCU but took the loss on the mound (0-1). Senior right fielder
Bill Feehan (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro) had two hits (2-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI) while junior second baseman
Brandon Rivera (Aberdeen, NJ/Matawan Regional) scored twice (1-for-4) with one RBI.

Nine different players had multiple hits for MSMC. Junior third baseman
Steven Mirra (Wallingford, Conn.) led the way, batting 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI in the leadoff spot while first baseman
Michael Doxey (Highland, N.Y.) batted 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles.

Sophomore shortstop
Devin Tait (Staten Island, N.Y.) batted 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs and a home run and sophomore right fielder
Anthony Franco (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Senior left fielder
Anthony Rizzo (Smithtown, N.Y.) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

James Murphy (Maybrook, N.Y.) earned the win in relief for his first career victory, striking out five (no walks) and allowing just two hits in 5.1 innings.
