JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The
New Jersey City University softball team heads to South Carolina this weekend for a seven-day, 10-day spring break tournament at The Ripkin Experience Myrtle Beach. The Gothic Knights will open their 38th season of intercollegiate softball on March 9.
Â
NJCU will play its spring break tournament in South Carolina for the first time since the 2016 season after playing in Southwest Florida the last three years. It will be NJCU's 14th time playing a spring break trip in South Carolina (1990, 1992-2000, 2004-2005), which was a traditional destination for the program through most of the 1990s and early 2000s.
Â
The Knights have six games scheduled against Division III opponents MacMurray College (Ill.), Shenandoah University, Cazenovia College and La Roche University and three more against NAIA foe Holy Family College (Wis.). The opponent for the 10th and final game of the trip will be determined later in the week.
