November 04, 2021

PITMAN, N.J. — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released its 2021 All-Conference women's volleyball awards today, Friday, Nov. 5. The New Jersey City University women's volleyball team was represented by junior right-side hitter Paola Toledo (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Colegio Catolico San Rafael), who was an Honorable Mention selection.

Toledo, who just closed out her first regular-season with the Gothic Knights, finished with team highs in kills (248), kills per set (3.06), points, (269.0) and points per set (3.32) and was second in total blocks (30.0) and blocks per set (0.37). She also ranked seventh in the NJAC in kills per set and ninth in points per set.

Overall, Toledo was one of just five players to play in at least 24 of the 25 matches this year — she played 24 and made 23 starts. Additionally, she snagged a NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honor early in the season (Sept. 7) following a strong opening weekend for NJCU.

She and the rest of the Gothic Knights are eligible for the 2021 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship and await their fate in the hopes of continuing to play this season. The ECAC will meet on Monday, Nov. 8, and make its selections following the NCAA's picks for its championship earlier that day.
