FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The New Jersey City University women's wrestling team, ranked #14 in the most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women's Rankings, competed in a pair of dual matches on the road on Monday evening, Dec. 13, against Elmira College and tri host #11 Sacred Heart University.

The Gothic Knights (1-4) took part in the second and third matches on the day, first against Elmira (2-5) and then against the 11th-ranked Pioneers (3-1). NJCU first fell to the Soaring Eagles in a close, 25-20 battle, and then dropped a ranked match to SHU, 25-15.

The highlight of the day for Jersey City was sophomore and #5-ranked 130-pounder Naomi Henry (Brooklyn, N.Y./Wingate). The co-captain won both of her matches on the day via first-round pins to improve to a team-best 9-0 on the season. Freshman 109-pounder Izabella Frezzo (East Rutherford, N.J./Becton Regional) also went 2-0 on the day, winning via a pair of forfeits.
