TUNKHANNOCK, Pa.. — The New Jersey City University men's and women's golf team each played a round of 18 on Sunday afternoon, April 18, against Marywood University at Stone Hedge Golf Course. Junior
Joshua Marseille (Linden, NJ/The Wardlaw + Hartridge School) was the highlight of the day for the Gothic Knights, taking medalist honors out of 11 golfers with a round of 82. For the NJCU women, this was monumental as it was the first official action in program history.
Three female Gothic Knights competed on the afternoon, led by junior captain
Elizabeth Bello (Jersey City, N.J./Innovation), who placed fifth. Behind her was sophomore
Fiona Moore (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) in sixth and then sophomore
Roxana Martinez (Jersey City, N.J./Innovation) in seventh.
On the men's side, another trio of Gothic Knights competed, led by the aforementioned Marseille and his first-place round of 82. Junior
Zachary Ware (Fort Lee, N.J./Bergen Community College) (98) and graduate student captain
Justin Davis (Vancleave, Miss./Vancleave) (102) were the other two competitors for NJCU on the day.
What's Next
The women return to action this Friday, April 23, at 1:00 p.m. for a dual match with Stockton University in Egg Harbor City, N.J., at Vineyard National Golf Club. The men hit the course again next Wednesday, April 28, at 2:00 p.m. for a dual match with Drew University in Branchburg, N.J., at Fox Hollow Golf Club.
