EWING, N.J. — The New Jersey City University softball team dropped both halves of its twin bill on the road today, Saturday, April 24, to #19 The College of New Jersey in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action.
Game one was a tough one for the Gothic Knights (0-14, 0-14 NJAC) as TCNJ (13-3, 12-2 NJAC) topped the road team 16-0. The Lions' Eliza Sweet tossed a perfect game for the home team, while NJCU rookie
Sidnie Dabbadie (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs) went 3.1 innings in the circle, with fellow freshman
Sam Miller (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) finishing out the final 0.2 innings of the afternoon.
Miller got the nod for the Gothic Knights in game two and tossed all 4.0 innings. She allowed seven earned and struck out one in the 18-0 defeat. Junior
Emma Herrick (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) reached safely in both of her plate appearances, notching a single and a walk. Miller and junior
Katherine Ayala (Jersey City, N.J./University Academy Charter) each went 1-for-2 at the plate as well.
