NEW ORLEANS, La. — The New Jersey City University men's and women's cross country and track & field teams were all recognized this year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as recipients of the 2020 and 2021 team All-Academic awards. All four teams each individually qualified for the accolades by earning a minimum of a 3.1 cumulative team grade point average during the most recent semester.
Following the 2020 cross country season (which took place in early-2021), NJCU men's cross country was one of 180 NCAA Division III institutions to earn the honor, putting together a 3.387 team GPA. The Jersey City women's cross country squad was one of 216 programs in D-III after amassing a 3.406 cumulative GPA.
On the track & field side, only the outdoor track & field programs were honored for 2021, as there was no indoor competition in Division III in 2020-21. Overall, 173 men's programs were honored, including NJCU, which amassed a team GPA of 3.127. On the women's side, the Gothic Knights earned a 3.282 team GPA and were one of 218 programs across Division III.
