Starting off on the victorious side was was freshman Vanshita Malhotra (Barwala, India/DAV Model School) as she defeated Becky Andrews of Ithaca College, 8-6. Junior co-captain Giada Zorzan (Milan, Italy/Liceo dello Sport Marco Pantani) was next to win after she defeated Mackenzie Wade of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 8-2.
