COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — The New Jersey City University men's wrestling team traveled out to Ursinus College today, Saturday, Nov. 19, for its first standalone dual match of the season. The Gothic Knights battled tough against the Bears, but ultimately suffered the 40-9 loss on the road.
After a tough loss at 125, NJCU (4-2) competed strong at 133 pounds against Ursinus (1-0) as freshman
Lucas Torre (Point Pleasant, N.J./Brick Memorial) dropped a tight, 8-3 decision in his collegiate debut. Another freshman in 157-pounder
Zack Vera (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) had a win by forfeit to make it 19-6 in favor of the home team at the time. Finally, at 184 pounds, junior
Farhan Khan (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) notched his fourth victory of the season with the tight 6-3 victory. In exhibition competition, junior 133-pounder
George Rivera (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) had a strong performance in the tight 4-2 defeat, as well.
