Women's Soccer Garners Three All-NJAC Honors

Brites Now a Three-Time All-Conference Selection

November 02, 2022

PITMAN, N.J. — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released its 2022 Women's Soccer All-Conference teams and award winners today, Wednesday, Nov. 2, and the New Jersey City University women's soccer program landed three student-athletes on the list of those recognized.

One again representing the Gothic Knights is junior forward Kim Brites (Carteret, N.J./Carteret), who picked up Second Team honors this season and is now a three-time All-Conference selection. Brites ended her season leading NJCU in both goals (13) and points (29) and is currently ranked second in the NJAC in goals and shots on goal (1.88/game) and fourth in points per game (1.81). Her career-high marks in goals and points are joined by her career-best three assists this season, as well.

The first of the two other selections was freshman midfielder Nyrohah Alvarenga (North Bergen, N.J./High Tech) and she — like the other selection in fellow rookie midfielder Rebecca Lopez (Mountain View, Calif./Mountain View) — was selected to the Honorable Mention squad. Alvarenga led NJCU in assists (6) and was second in goals (7) and points (20). Her six helpers currently tie her for fifth in the NJAC. Lopez tallied four goals and one assist for nine points in her first season with the Gothic Knights and also played a major role defensively for her team, which held opponents to a .145 shot percentage over 18 games.
