NEW YORK, N.Y. — The New Jersey City University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to the NYC DIII Invitational this afternoon, Feb. 4, held at The Armory in New York.
On the women's side of things, junior
Polina Agutina (Evaptoria, Ukraine/Number 6) led the way for the Gothic Knights, taking first in the triple jump with a career-best leap of 10.73m. Agutina also placed third in the long jump event with 5.09m, which tops her previous season-best of 4.85m from the Ramapo College Invite on Jan. 21.
On the men's side, junior
Tyneil Jackson (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) placed 10th in both the long jump (career-best 5.92m) and triple jump (12.02m) and posted a personal best time of 2391 in the 200m. Another junior,
Jason Garcia (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson), ran a season-best 23.66 in the 200m, placing 17th out of 42 runners.
There was no team scoring, however, the Gothic Knights competed in 12 different events overall.
What's Next:
The Green and Gold will travel to the West Long Beach, N.J., to compete in the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational from Feb. 11-12.
