MEDFORD, Mass. — The New Jersey City University men's track and field squad sent a pair of student-athletes to the Tufts University National Qualifying Meet on Saturday, March 5. Junior
Jason Garcia (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) ran a season-best time in the 60 meter-dash, while senior
Dave Etienne (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) competed in the 200 meter-dash.
Garcia placed eighth in the 60m prelims with a season-best time of 7.23 seconds, and then placed eighth in the finals with a time of 7.27.
Etienne took home fourth-place in the 200m with a time of 22.35.
With no Gothic Knights having qualified for NCAAs, Jersey City men's and women's track & field now prepares for their outdoor seasons. They begin on Friday, March 25, in West Long Branch, N.J., at the Monmouth University Outdoor Home Opener.
