Men's Golf in Sixth After Round One of Arcadia Classic; Stoker Tied for Seventh Individually

LAKEWOOD, N.J. — The New Jersey City University men's golf team competed in round one of the Arcadia University Spring Kick Off Classic on Friday, April 1, which took place on the par-72, 6,690-yard East Ridge Golf Course. NJCU stands in sixth place overall through 18 holes, while freshman Evan Stoker (Clinton, N.J./Voorhees) sits in a tie for seventh to lead the way individually for the Gothic Knights.

The hosting Arcadia Knights "A" team sits in first place after a first-round 331, while Cairn University's Ryan Borrmann is atop the individual leaderboard following a first-round score of 76. For Jersey City, Stoker shot a team-low round of 82 and is tied for seventh out of 35 golfers.

Fellow NJCU rookie Tamuda Kaseke (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. John's College) is tied for 21st after shooting a 93 on Friday, followed by seniors Josh Marseille (Linden, N.J./The Wardlaw+Hartridge School) and Zachary Ware (Fort Lee, N.J./Bergen Community College), who are in 27th and 28th, respectively.

Up Next:
The Green and Gold return to the course at Eagle Ridge tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 2, for the second and final round of the Arcadia Classic. Stoker is currently six strokes back from the lead and will look to make a push in the second half of this 36-hole tournament.
