MALVERN, Pa. — The New Jersey City University men's golf team competed in round one of the 2022 Atlantic East Conference Championship on Friday, April 22, and the Gothic Knights saw some success on the par-72 course at White Manor Country Club.
As a team, NJCU shot an overall score of 340 in round one and sits in fourth place, just five shots back of Marywood University and Neumann University, both of whom are tied for second after Friday's rounds of 335.
Individually, Dan Murphy of first-place Cabrini University shot a 77 on the day to take hold of the top spot on the leaderboard. For Jersey City, freshman standout
Evan Stoker (Clinton, N.J./Voorhees) — a two-time Atlantic East Golfer of the Week and three-time Honor Roll selection — shot a plus-7 round of 78 and sits in a tie for second place, just one shot back of the lead. Another rookie,
Tamuda Kaseke (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. John's College), is tied for 13th after shooting an 85 on the day.
Sophomore
Taj Piontkowski (Califon, N.J./Voorhees) shot an 87 on the day and is tied for 16th, followed by senior
Zachary Ware (Fort Lee, N.J./Bergen Community College), who is tied for 22nd following Friday's round of 90. Senior
Josh Marseille (Linden, N.J./The Wardlaw+Hartridge School) is in 27th following his round of 93.

The first tee times on Saturday, April 23, in round two are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The first Gothic Knight to tee off will be Marseille at 12:50 p.m., followed by Ware (1:00 p.m.), Piontkowski (1:10 p.m.), Kaseke (1:20 p.m.) and Stoker, who is in the final group, which tees off at 1:30 p.m.
