BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The New Jersey City University men's and women's track & field squads competed successfully at the Coach P. Invite on Saturday, April 24, hosted by Moravian University. Senior co-captain
Dave Etienne (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) highlighted the day by bringing home two individual first-place finishes with personal records in the 100m and 400m events.
Etienne, after posting a third-place 11.33 finish in the preliminary 100m-dash race, the senior co-captain took first in the finals with a personal-record time of 11.21 to secure an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifying time. Senior
Roger Campbell (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) also PRed in the 100m during the prelims with a time of 11.58. Etienne was not done yet as he also notched a PR and took home first place in the 400m with an ECAC qualifying time of 48.99. Campbell again PRed, as well, with a seventh-place time of 52.02.
Sophomore co-captain
Jake Sisk (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) blew away his previous PR in the 1,500m event by nearly six full seconds as he placed eighth overall today with a time of 4:10.94. The 4x400m team of Etienne, Campbell, junior
Adnan Kpodo (Irvington, N.J./Irvington) and Sisk placed third with a time of 3:32.25.
On the women's end, top five finished came from junior
Tiffany Ortiz (Jersey City, N.J./University Academy Charter) in the 400m and senior captain
April Gutierrez (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) in the 10,000m.

The squads will once again split next weekend as a contingent of Gothic Knights will head to Philadelphia for the historic Penn Relays from Thursday to Saturday, April 28-30. Additionally, the majority of NJCU track will compete at the TCNJ Invitational in Ewing, N.J., on April 29-30.
