PITMAN, N.J. — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its 2021-22 All-Conference Team for women's tennis on Tuesday, April 27. The New Jersey City University women's tennis program landed three student-athletes on the All-NJAC Team, combining for four honors.
A First Team All-NJAC selection at singles in 2020-21, junior
Giada Zorzan (Milan, Italy/Liceo dello Sport Marco Pantani) once again picked up All-Conference accolades in singles this season. Additionally, she was named First Team All-NJAC in doubles this year, pairing with her younger sister freshman
Sara Zorzan (Milan, Italy/Liceo Falcone Borsellino).
Giada amassed a regular-season overall singles record in NJAC play of 4-1 (nearly 5-1, although a match was unfinished due to weather, with her leading 6-1, 4-0) and went 5-1 in conference regular-season doubles play. She spent all season playing at the #1 spot in both singles and doubles.
Sara joined her sister in the #1 doubles pairing for the Gothic Knights in mid-March and never dropped off. The rookie combined with Giada to amass a 5-1 record as the top pair in NJAC regular-season competition. She was not named All-Conference in singles, but did amass a 5-1 NJAC record as NJCU's #5 singles player.
Last but not least, junior
Eliza Clamor (Auckland, New Zealand/Rangitoto College) picked up First Team All-NJAC honors in singles. The first-year Gothic Knight took over the #2 singles role for NJCU and went 4-1 in conference regular-season play (once again, nearly 5-1 as she led 6-0, 3-1, in a match the went unfinished due to weather). Not named All-Conference in doubles, Clamor does sport a 9-4 record there, including a 5-1 regular-season NJAC mark, paired with graduate student captain
Brittany Waugh (Stevenson Ranch, Calif./West Ranch) at #3 doubles.
