PHILADELPHIA — The New Jersey City University men's track & field team sent a small contingent to the 2022 running of the historic Penn Relays on Friday, April 29, at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. The Gothic Knights were represented in the men's 4x100m relay.
NJCU sent the foursome of senior captain
Dave Etienne (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) and juniors
Roger Campbell (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson),
Jason Garcia (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) and
Emmanuel Chinonso Abarah (Irvington, N.J./Irvington). Jersey City competed in the third heat of College Men's 4x100 Eastern event and placed third with a season-best time of 43.30. Overall, the Gothic Knights placed 19th out of 29 finishing teams.
The top nine finishing teams advanced past the preliminary round to tomorrow's final, however Jersey City will shift its focus to the Lions Outdoor Invitational, hosted by The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J. Action begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30.
