September 06, 2022

PITMAN, N.J. — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its first batch of weekly award winners of the 2022-23 academic year today, Tuesday, Sept. 6, and the New Jersey City University women's soccer team landed an honoree on that list. Freshman forward Jessica Digristina (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) was named the first NJAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week of the season.

Digristina made her collegiate debut by earning a pair of starts as NJCU kicked off the season 1-1. The rookie tallied a game-high-tying five points over just 44 minutes in the squad's 10-0 win over Yeshiva University on Friday, Sept. 2, at Caven Point Field, scoring the first two goals of her career on six on-target attempts, as well as her first-ever college assist. She then played 69 minutes and took one shot in the tough 2-0 loss to the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, Sept. 3, also at Caven.
