NEWARK, N.J. — The New Jersey City University women's cross country squad competed at the Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 7, hosted by Division I New Jersey Institute of Technology, at Branch Brook Park.

Junior Ashley Adames (Jersey City, N.J./County Prep) led the way in the 5k event for the Gothic Knights with a personal-record time of 26:53.80. Behind her was classmate Nyla Boyd (Thomson, Ga./Thomson), who crossed the finish line with a time of 27:51.00. Closing it out was senior Ayriana Young (Jersey City, N.J./McNair Academic), who notched a time of 28:04.90.

The Gothic Knights return to action next Saturday, Oct. 14, for the SJLI Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y. The invite is hosted by St. Joseph's University-Long Island.
