FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The New Jersey City University men's basketball team squared off with non-conference foe Farmingdale State College on the road on Monday evening, Nov. 27. Three different Gothic Knights scored in double figures, but NJCU suffered the 91-71 defeat at the hands of the Rams.
The Green and Gold (1-4) held an early 10-7 lead over Farmingdale (6-1) with 16:45 left in the first following a three-pointer from graduate student co-captain forward
Daniel Rodriguez (Newark, N.J./Hudson Catholic). The Gothic Knights kept the game to single digits over the next four-plus minutes, but the Rams managed to take a 15-point lead into the locker room.
NJCU stayed with Farmingdale State in the second half, only trailing in the latter 20 minutes by five points at 46-41, but ultimately fell to the Rams. The Gothic Knights trailed big with just over seven minutes to go, but closed out the game on a 26-10 run before the final buzzer sounded.

- Junior guard
Hakeem Wilson (Newark, N.J./North Star Academy) led NJCU with 12 points and added three boards, two assists and a steal.
- Rodriguez finished with 11 points, five boards, two dimes and a block.
- Sophomore guard
Bakhi Rogers-Robinson (Orange, N.J./West Caldwell Tech) made the first start of his career. He played a career-high 22 minutes and was 4-of-8 from the floor, as well as 2-of-3 from the stripe to end with a career-best 10 points, adding a pair of rebounds and a steal.
- Junior forward
Ryan Savoy (Lakewood, N.J./Lakewood) finished with nine points, four boards, three blocks, an assist and a steal in a team-high 33 minutes on the floor.
- Junior forward
Malachi Gayton (East Orange, N.J./St. Mary's of Assumption) led NJCU with seven rebounds and chipped in six points and an assist.
- Junior guard
Quamir Martin (Roselle, N.J./Abraham Clark) also had six points in 14 minutes off the bench.

Tip off between NJCU and the Pioneers is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Coach Charlie Brown Court following the completion of the preceeding women's game.
